Careers...Careers...Careers

The Career Fair took place on Wednesday, October 1 in the Jordan Ballroom in the Student Union Building. Many employers took advantage of this great opportunity to recruit students; 74 different businesses were present. Throughout the day, around 1,000 students toured the fair, speaking with the various employers and picking up a bag full of goodies along the way. The recruiters ranged from police departments to accounting firms to food companies. Frito-Lay's booth was hard to miss with their chip display that reached from the floor to the ceiling. Several hospitals and health care clinics from around the valley represented themselves. Cell phone companies and banks educated students on their policies and procedures. A number of students came to the fair dressed professionally, and the employers appreciated this gesture. Several job-seekers were able to earn interviews to further their chances of working for these companies. The Career Fair proved to be a success, and the Career Center looks forward to hosting the second one in the spring time.
