Feeling stressed about graduating this year?

We have just the fix for that problem.  The Boise State University Career Center is holding its first annual Job Search Boot Camp!  Although graduating may usually be something rather exciting, this year there is a little bit more unpredictability graduates are experiencing as they begin to search for jobs.

*** The purpose of this workshop is to provide you with job search tools (targeted resume development and government and public service jobs application processes), skills (networking and interviewing), and opportunities to connect with national and local employers***

Beginning the day is businessman, Mark Rivers, CEO of Brix and Company, a developer specializing in urban redevelopments, notably BODO and Linen District.  He will be taking a look at the Treasure Valley economy and job market.
Later on at lunch, a keynote address will be given by Dr. Phil Gardner, Director of the Collegiate Employment Research Institute at Michigan State University.  He is an expert on the national college labor market and transitioning from college to work.  In order to learn more about CERI, visit www.ceri.msu.edu.
All throughout the day, workshops will be going on to help you build your job search skills and learn how to have a very successful job search.  At the end of the day, there will be an employer panel and a networking reception.  This will allow you to learn more about jobs you are interested in, as well as gain insight and advice from those with more experience.

This exciting new Job Search Boot Camp will be held on Thursday, May 28th from 8:30 am- 5:00 pm in the Student Union Building.  The space is limited!  If you are interested in holding a spot, please RSVP to the Career Center at career@boisestate.edu.  This will hold your spot until you have a chance to come pay for and pick up your ticket at the Career Center.  The cost of the workshop is $5 for December 08 and May 09 graduates and $10 for all other alumni.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
