Although this Career Fair was affected by troubling economic times, it was a successful event last Wednesday. The economy did perhaps cause about half the amount of employers to attend the fair as usual; however, the room was filled with representatives from various companies. The final count of employers was fifty-nine, and approximately 1,000 students wandered through the fair from 9 am to 3 pm. One major difference in this Career Fair was the amount of alumni that attended the event. Due to the poor job market, several graduated students were back to look for work.
Even though most of the employees are not hiring right now, the event still served as a great networking tool. And what better way to find out more about the companies around Boise and the surrounding areas? For those students who are not planning on graduating any time soon, the Career Fair can provide them with information about career options. In order to follow up with any of the companies that attended the Career Fair this spring, you can click the link on Broncojobs. Some of the employees that held booths at the event were Frito-Lay, Boise Police Department, Fast Enterprises, Bodybuilding.com, and the city of McCall.
